The story begins when our paths crossed with painting at Keskinok Art Foundation on one day, after half a century of my life.
In the place where the spirit of the esteemed artist Kayıhan Keskinok wanders over the paintings of master painters hanging on the walls, inevitably I started to say, “I wonder, can I too?”
While I was trying to learn and to understand art with the Philosophy of Art Seminars of my dear teacher, Celal Binzet, at Uğur Mumcu Investigative Journalism Foundation, I took painting lessons from Hikmet Çetinkaya and Erdoğan Seçil at the Hikmet Çetinkaya Workshop, and I am still working in the same workshop. Also, I took pattern lessons at Mehmet Ali Doğan Workshop, albeit for a short time.
I love colors, stains, especially BLUE. I like the SEA. The sea means FREEDOM for me. Sometimes, I am struggling with the rough waves, and other times I am listening to the sound of silence in the endless calm.
I usually work with a spatula. Working with a spatula is like dancing with colors and stains on a canvas for me. I have participated in six group exhibitions before. On April 15, 2021, I opened my first solo exhibition titled “THE SEA WITHIN ME”. My exhibition pictures can be accessed from the link below.
